Week One Muddiest Point

I thought all of the information was really clear for the first week's lecture, so I don't really have a muddiest point. Although, I can say that there was one thing that I really liked that we went over in class. On one of the power points, Dr. Daqung showed the building blocks to wisdom.
Data- Information- Knowledge- Wisdom.
I think this was a really useful topic to go over, as it has also come up in two of my other classes. This was definatly useful review for the first class.

  1. I agree. The very first discussion board question for LIS2000 was comparing information and knowledge. I used the pyramid as the bases of my response. It is really cool that the classes are intersecting with each other.

  2. Sometimes technology can be hard for me to grasp. I also appreciated the introduction on how informamtion begins as unprocessed information and changes into knowledge and wisdom. Information is useful in the last two stages because it "demonstrates a high level of understanding." I like the philosophical view on information and how it becomes valuable.
